Gridio is a giant human audiovisual sequencer originally developed as a commissioned piece for the Sonic Process exhibition at the Pompidou Centre, Paris. It is a game-like interactive music video installation where participants can dance and move around to create an audio-visual remix.
Pressure-sensors on the grid-patterned floor detect movements of people within the installation and triggering looped multiple simultaneous audio-visual clips. Video from the clips is mixed on a large projection screen, associated audio through a loudspeaker system.
This video shows our portable Gridio system in use at the O2 Wireless festival in London.
